February 2018 - Linens and Valentines

One for me: Linens
Is post-illness nesting a thing?

After getting over the dreaded stomach bug of February 2018 (I avoided the terrible flu, but ended up with a virus that put me down for 5 days - and I rarely get sick), I was on a cleaning frenzy. Nothing happened to make me want to clean all of my linens, but I felt like I needed to purge any and all germs that could have been absorbed by my bed during the 5 days I was married to it. So, I put ALL (and I mean ALL - comforter, throw pillows, pillows, mattress pad, bed skirt) of my linens in bags and transported them to Cleveland to spend the day with my parents/utilize their extra large washer and dryer. I was able to spend some quality time with my parents and do 4 loads of laundry - win/win! That definitely made me happy this month! (I also FINALLY replaced my 10+ year old bathroom rugs, which has been on my to do list for well over a year.)

One for you: Valentines
Valentines and Galentines galore!

Each year for Valentine's Day, I give out Valentine's to coworkers. We have an annual contest to make a Valentine's Day box and we pass out cards/treats to each other - think Valentine's Day in your elementary school classroom but with a much higher level of creativity and skill (writer of this post excluded). This year, I recycled my box from last year, but stepped it up a bit on the giving side, putting together small bags of candy for my coworkers. And to take it even further, I sent some love to the galentines in my personal life. Who doesn't love snail mail?

If anyone has any creative idea's for my work V-Day box design, please let me know...
