2017 Weeks 10-13 / March

Exciting thing: Switched To Do List Apps
Okay, let's be honest - this doesn't seem too exciting. But it is to me! My entire resolution this year is based upon lists (and this isn't the first time), so it is safe to say I like lists. A lot.

I've been using an antiquated to do list app on my phone since 2012. It is 2017 and we all know that technology updates at the speed of light. I was comfortable with what I had and changing seemed like more work than it was worth. I often show my affinity for personal lists and when the inevitable question of which app I use is asked, I'm embarrassed to answer.

Thus beings this journey of app discovery. The obvious choice seemed like Wunderlist, but I used this at work several years ago (also around 2012) and got burned during an update - all of my items were deleted and couldn't be recovered. Needless to say, this left a bad taste in my mouth, but nearly 5 years later, I decided to give it another chance. I also tried Todoist - I figured if I liked it, that would give me the excuse I've been looking for to get an Echo Dot, due to the easy integration.

If anyone is interested in the steps I actually took in making this decision, I'd be happy to discuss further and give you my endless opinions. For the few of you who kept reading to see which one I actually chose, I'll keep it brief: Wunderlist. And I changed the default background to the purple ombre because, c'mon, it's me.

Little Nagging Task: Update LinkedIn & Finish Goodwill Valuation
While extremely boring and adult, I did 2 little nagging tasks this month.

At work, I've been in my role for 2 years - it felt like time to add a description of what I do on to my LinkedIn profile. This was on my "while the office is quiet around Christmas" list, but part of that list wasn't actually tackled...

The Goodwill valuation form had to be done eventually due to extreme adulting (i.e. itemizing my taxes). I had the list of what had been donated, just needed to put the dollar figures against it.

Lists (titles and highlights):
  • List the things you should ignore.
    • This one seems deep and I am not in a deep head space at the moment.
    • I did write "Dwelling on the past" because my crazy memory plagues me with this multiple times a day
  • List the ways you can rejuvenate your space.
    •  I literally wrote on the top of this list, "This list is bound to be long & expensive..."
  • List your best qualities.
    • Is organized a quality? (feels like a no-brainer if you read my rambling first portion of this post about my love for lists)
  • List the things that always cheer you up.
    • Is "a clear Hulu queue" an appropriate answer?
