The question I keep asking myself is...WHY AM I NOT STILL IN ICELAND? This trip had everything - great travel companions, passport stamps, Northern Lights sightings, every type of weather and experiences I'll never have again (like snorkeling between the tectonic plates - I will NEVER do that again!).
The main goal was to see the Northern Lights. Which we did. Twice. And the lights were amazing, especially the first night when they were really strong - waving, swirling and dancing in the sky for us. I didn't have a tripod that night and there was nothing to set my camera on, so I held my breath and tried to stay as still as possible. It was an incredible trip. Of course, I'm itching to plan the next one - who wants to travel???
I mean...seriously??? Incredible
One for you: Family Pics
I was honored to be asked by a friend of mine to take pictures of her family to commemorate her daughter's six month birthday. This is the third time I've been asked to take pictures for a friend and a few others have mentioned interest. As a photographer, I admittedly have no clue what I'm doing, but love taking pictures of people I care about!
So I snapped away, taking 579 frames in a very short period of time. I think I got some good ones (maybe they'll show up on a Christmas card this year!) of both the family and kids alone, but my favorites are the ones that show the true story of family life - the six month old spitting up and pulling her mom's hair, the 2.5 year old playing with toys on his mom's face, and mom and dad each holding a child while trying to get them happy and looking at the camera.
