Happy (almost) birthday to me! Matt and Andrew had a cookout tonight before Red, White and Boom tonight that was a ton of fun. After we had all eaten, Matt not so subtly asked for a lighter and kicked me out of the kitchen. The boys got me the beautiful cookie cake pictured above and put sparklers in it, rendering me unable of making a wish (but I made one anyways as I pretended to blow out the sparklers - who thinks it might come true?). I was trying to read the cake and I couldn't tell that it said America (I thought it said Amanda). Matt told me it was too short to just have my name on it. After this, the celebrity couple name Samerica was formed, making that the toast for the rest of the night.
Red, White and Boom was a tad disappointing this year, but the company was not. I had a wonderful time with so many of my friends, 27 is definitely a birthday for the books. I am so lucky to have so many wonderful people in my life...
