When I was rounding out the list at the end of 2013, Maribeth suggested that I add this one. She had never tried absinthe, either, so we planned a date (and kept it)! While it does not have the hallucinogenic that absinthe is known for, we had a fun experience and a great night! We had delicious drinks (with some bonus absinthe) and sampled it plain - it tastes like licorice.
I'll put trying the "real thing" on my to do list when I make it to Prague one day, but until then, this item is complete!

Our adorable bartender, Brendon, gave me a quick tutorial on how it is traditionally prepared (and ensured me that our mixed drinks were the better route) - and then he posed for a picture with the bottle and absinthe spoon. I was too entertained and missed the picture of his thumbs up pose.
We enjoyed some fantastic people watching while enjoying our drinks - and I played tic-tac-toe with some strangers.
