Completed 3/1/14 (just in the nick of time!)
Nominations were announced on 1/16/14 with 9 contenders. I had already seen 1 of them, so there were only 8 to go!
I went to the AMC Best Picture Showcase for the first time and really enjoyed it - 5 movies in 12 hours. It was a long day, but I really enjoyed it and would consider going again next year! Naturally, I talked to strangers throughout the day, giving over 10 book recommendations to one and reviewing each movie with the person sitting next to me.
Below are the movies ranked in order of my favorite to least favorite (not what I think will win or how I would vote, if the Academy bothered to ask my opinion) and the dates I saw them:
