I tried 2 new Columbus restaurants this month and both were delicious! First, I had a dinner with some of my favorite ladies - Jillian, Erin, Lisa and I headed to Paulie Gee's in the Short North. I had a delicious pizza with ricotta, which is my favorite pizza topping. Great food and even better company! The next night, we had a work ladies night out. Kelly, Elaine, Katie, Carrie, Nicole, Danya, Emily, Lauryn and I had dinner at Forno. I had a wonderful pasta dish, along with some tasty drinks. Jello shots that come in fresh strawberries? Yes, please! After learning that Forno has half price bottles of wine and champagne Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm, I definitely see more girls nights here in the future.
Thursday Paulie Gee's pizza on the left, Friday Forno pasta on the right. Both delicious!
Recipe: Slow Cooker Macaroni & Cheese
I didn't have my heart set on anything to try this month, so when the last week of February rolled around, I had to choose something quick! Enter the old standby - mac and cheese. Anyone who knows me understand my love and affection for mac and cheese. So I gave it a whirl (I used different types of cheese instead of 3 cups of only cheddar - I love mixing cheeses)! This recipe was extremely creamy - maybe too creamy (maybe I left it in for too long or should have added a tad more milk), so the texture was different than I expected. It is delicious - I'll probably give this another go, but with a slightly different recipe since there were so many to choose from! I also tried using a slow cooker liner for the first time, as many recipes recommended this. I'm not sold - I guess I don't mind scrubbing out the bowl as much as I mind trying to stir with the liner.

Don't let the odd measurements throw you off - the chef who wrote this recipe is British. 16oz box of macaroni, 8oz block of cream cheese, 12oz can of evaporated milk.
Little nagging task: Fix Shower Drain
This has been on my to do list since late last year - my shower drain just needed to be snaked. It wasn't a full clog, just very slow drain. So by February, it was very VERY slow drain. Had I known it would be so quick and easy, I probably would have taken care of it much earlier! All I had to do was call my home warranty company - 30 minutes later, their plumbing company called. 2 hours after that, the plumbers were at my house pulling hair out of the drain (I was tempted to look, but resisted, since I was in the middle of lunch - which was leftovers from the above mac and cheese recipe). I am very much looking forward to finishing my next shower free of ankle deep water!

Habit: Flossing
I used to be good at this. And then I ran out of floss, waited too long to run to Target for more, and fell out of the habit. A few years later, I'm back in the game and ready for a glowing report from my dentist at my next appointment!
