March - Chronic Couch Sleeper

Restaurant: Lomonico's
I hadn't heard of Lomonico's - thanks to Jess for finding and suggesting it. Jess, Leslie and I headed to dinner here on a quiet Friday night. We each got different (delicious/dangerous) drinks, shared a yummy appetizer and enjoyed our dinners. Leslie and I split 2 different pizzas - we each wanted the same two. I rarely can share food, so this was exciting! Jess got a pasta dish that looked and smelled amazing. We're already planning on coming back here for book club!

Ricotta is my FAVORITE pizza topping.

Recipe: Buffalo Chicken Dip and Tortilla Chips
I made homemade tortilla chips - I had leftover tortillas and figured I'd get some use out of them.
It was super easy (see the recipe linked about - I lightly salted before baking and they were perfect). I also made buffalo chicken dip for the first time, which is shocking based on how much I like it. I modified the linked recipe above - substituted half of the cream cheese with greek yogurt, used colby jack instead of cheddar and used all blue cheese dressing instead of ranch.
I now have 7 containers of buffalo chicken dip ready to freeze and pull out whenever the mood strikes. I'll probably buy tortilla chips rather than making my own for those future indulgences.

The same day, I also made onion dip for the first time, but mixing plain greek yogurt and onion soup mix together hardly feels resolution-worthy.

Little nagging task: Have couch cleaned
This was way overdue and necessary - see bad habit section for more info. Easy to schedule and didn't take long (and got my lazy bones out of bed on a Saturday morning). The guy who cleaned it also said it cleaned up like new and couldn't believe the couch is nearly 9 years old. That's a win for Adult Sara.

Habit: Read more and sleep in bed every night
This month's habit was 2 fold: I don't read as much as I'd like and I spent most nights in February on my couch (if you know how comfortable my couch is, you understand). I am a pretty quick reader and binge reader by nature, so I tend not to read unless I have a large chunk of time to devote to it. I'll finish a book in one sitting, even if that means I'm awake until 3am and it is very easy to talk myself into "just one more" chapter. So, this month, I'm tried to read just a few pages a night and ween myself of the binge reading I crave. I figured, if I leave a book on my nightstand and force myself to read a little bit before going to bed every night, I'll kill 2 birds with one stone. I don't sleep as well on the couch - inevitably, I have all of the lights on and am likely still in my clothes. Efficiency is the name of the game, people. I was only semi-successful in building these habits. I tore through People I Want to Punch in the Throat by Jen Mann, but slowed down the reading after that. I also slept on the couch more than I'd like to admit, but far fewer nights that I did in February! I'll keep working on these two...
