About an hour too long.
Russell Crowe shouldn't sing-talk.
I loved the stage show, but was unimpressed by the movie. Maybe the expectations were too high?
And, as always, Eponine is the best character.
- What made me choose this movie?
- Saw the play, figured I should see the movie.
- Describe this movie in one word. JUST ONE.
- Involved.
- Would I recommend it to a friend (or talk ad nauseum with my friends about it)?
- Recommend? No.
- Talk ad nauseum? No, but while at the play, I asked Sarah a lot of questions to make sure I was following.
- Did I look anyone or anything up from the movie on IMDB or Wikipedia?
- No need. My mom wanted to watch the HBO special about the making of the movie, which answered any outstanding questions.
- If I was trapped on a desert island, which character from this movie would I want to be trapped with and why?
- Eponine is the best.
- Did this movie provoke any outward emotional reactions? Crying, laughing out loud, throwing crap across the room, etc./et al. (Warning - I cry A LOT.)
- No.
- Would I stop to watch this movie at any point during a showing on TBS?
- No.
- Would I buy it on sale at Target for $5 or less (or even splurge on it full price)?
- No.
