Day 81

I took a picture with the bottle because I couldn't believe it. I painted my nails with this $1.99 Wet n Wild nail polish from CVS on Friday and it has not chipped yet. When I paint my nails with my OPI or Essie nail polish (or get a manicure, once in a blue moon), my nails chip WHILE I'M STILL PICKING OUT THE COLOR. No polish on yet, and my nails know to resist and reject it immediately. Maybe this cheap stuff is the way to go? Green is not my color, so I decided not to drop $8 on a bottle that will get used once a year (on St. Patrick's Day I wore green shoes and green nail polish with my Ohio State t-shirt. I'm Irish once a year, but I'm a Buckeye every day of the year). I even used the cheap top coat that came with it (that's right - 2 bottles of polish for $2). Being the investigator that I am, I'm sure I'll use the cheap top coat with some of my nice polishes to see what is really keeping this on my nails. I haven't worn a Wet n Wild nail polish since I was very young. I had a beauty birthday party in the basement of the McDonald's on Mayfield road where we got manicures, made necklaces and watched Mrs. Doubtfire. I'm not sure exactly what age it was, but that birthday party was one of my favorites. My sweet mother drove to every Marc's in Cleveland to find the exact glitter Wet n Wild nail polish I wanted to put in the goody bag for all of my friends. At least 15 years later, I still remember that. It's the little things that parents do for their children that end up sticking.

If the cheap polish is better on my nails than the nice stuff, I fear that the number of colors I own will multiply rapidly. Time to start that work nail polish club again...
