Week 3.1 - Season 1 of Girls

Second post so far for Week 3 - overachieving!

Now, I know a TV show doesn't count, but it is on HBO. Can we make an exception just this once? (I know it is week 3 and asking for only one exception this early in the year will come back and bite me.)

• What made me choose this movie?
• I've been wanting to watch it since the series started last year. I saw Tiny Furniture and had mixed emotions about it, but this series seems right up my alley.
• Describe this movie in one word. JUST ONE.
• Realistic.
• Would I recommend it to a friend (or talk ad nauseum with my friends about it)?
• Recommend - YES! YES! YES! A MILLION TIMES YES!

• Did I look anyone or anything up from the movie on IMDB or Wikipedia?
• Yes - there was one guest star who I recognized and couldn't place for the life of me (he played Betty's boyfriend turned nemesis on Ugly Betty - but there were so many I could place...the mom from Freaks and Geeks! The dad from Camp Nowhere! Jesse from Pitch Perfect!  The creepy guy from Friends that Phoebe thought she was meant to go on a date with! Bryan from The New Normal! I'll stop now...)
• If I was trapped on a desert island, which character from this movie would I want to be trapped with and why?
• Tough question. I think Jessa would be the most fun, but I relate to Marnie the most. So, I choose Charlie. He would build us furniture from whatever he could find on the island.
• Did this movie provoke any outward emotional reactions? Crying, laughing out loud, throwing crap across the room, etc./et al. (Warning - I cry A LOT.)
• I laughed and yelled. A lot. No crying, but it is only season one.
• Would I stop to watch this movie at any point during a showing on TBS?
• I would stop to watch this show in reruns, even though there would be a lot they couldn't show on basic cable...
• Would I buy it on sale at Target for $5 or less (or even splurge on it full price)?
• I would definitely consider buying the series on DVD. Probably not at full price at this point, maybe if it goes on sale? Or a box set once it is over?
