Week 3.2 - Django Unchained

Great soundtrack and random cameos (hello Amber Tamlyn and Robert Carradine (also known as the guy from Revenge of the Nerds and Lizzie McGuire's dad).
The worst part about the violence was the sound effects that went with it - it is Quentin Tarantino after all.
Three posts in January week 3 - I hope I'm not peaking too early!

  • What made me choose this movie?
    • Great cast, Oscar buzz and friends wanted to see it. The following people cannot return to Arena Grand because everyone there hates us for no reason: Leslie, Matt, Sarah, Ally, Andrew and Dave.
  • Describe this movie in one word. JUST ONE.
    • Graphic.
  • Would I recommend it to a friend (or talk ad nauseum with my friends about it)?
    • Recommend - yes. But there were 2 gory scenes I couldn't watch. Be prepared to watch through your fingers (or see it with Ally and watch her reactions to see when it is okay to look again).
    • Talk ad nauseum? We talked about it on the walk out of the theater, the drive home and the walk up to the apartment. Does that fit this criteria?
  • Did I look anyone or anything up from the movie on IMDB or Wikipedia?
    • Didn't need to (you read that correctly - I know Robert Carradine's name without looking it up).
  • If I was trapped on a desert island, which character from this movie would I want to be trapped with and why?
    • Dr. King Schultz would protect us, teach me German in our spare time and tell great German stories.
  • Did this movie provoke any outward emotional reactions? Crying, laughing out loud, throwing crap across the room, etc./et al. (Warning - I cry A LOT.)
    • I laughed and screamed a lot. A LOT.
  • Would I stop to watch this movie at any point during a showing on TBS?
    • No. Even though it would be easier for me to watch the edited version.
  • Would I buy it on sale at Target for $5 or less (or even splurge on it full price)?
    • No. I think one viewing is my max. But the movie was FANTASTIC.
