Friday was Double Happiness. Jess, Sean and I started our night with a nice little dinner at the German Village Max & Erma's, then headed over to Double Happiness in the Brewery District for Brittany's boyfriend Joey's birthday (did you catch all of that?). Jess was delighted with Chinese theme of the bar (which led to many comments and jokes about her upcoming excursion to China. To get Sean to smile in the picture below, Jess said "Sean, pretend like we're in China!"). I hadn't been to this space since it was After 5. I only went once for a very odd, yet fun, YAD happy hour several years ago. While at this bar, we watched a DVD of Soul Train highlights (see washed out picture below - you need to see it to believe it). At one point, one of the people we were with (I can't remember who) said, "Who would want to watch this?" but stopped themselves when they realized we had been watching and discussing the dancing and outfits for at least 20 minutes.
Look for a post sometime between now and April chronicling my next excursion to this bar with Jess and Sean. I made them promise that we would return and each would take a shot (Sean will be taking a shot of Bakon vodka and Jess will be taking a shot of Pinnacle Cookie Dough vodka). This will happen, as I made them both pinky swear me...
