Day 125

On classy day, we go in the front entrance. Three classy ladies in three classy dresses in three classy hats. Many many thanks to Taylor's childhood friend Lyman (who I met at Derby 2 years ago - the year some of us didn't go into the race). His uncle has a box and gave Taylor and I tickets to The Oaks. Allison had a seat right at the finish line, but was able to meet up with us later. Taylor's mom is the head of host volunteers this year and was able to take us back to the board room. My favorite things about the board room: air conditioning, nice bathrooms and people with ear pieces in. Taylor's step-dad nicknamed her mom "She Who Must Be Obeyed" and I saw the power when Karen casually said to the security guards in front of the board room "They're with me" when Taylor and I walked through.

And I got to see horses this year! This is not a normal occurrence, as we tend to spend Derby day in the infield and I am too short to see over people. But being in the box on Oaks, we had a fantastic view. See the picture below - this is not zoomed in at all...
