For the past 364 days, I have regretted not going to the track with Taylor's step-dad the morning after the Derby. Luckily, this year he took a group of us to the backside and it was as wonderful as I had hoped. The picture above is our shadows on the track. From left to right, you have me, Bailey, Allison and JR (Taylor's step-brother, Rob, was too far away for his shadow to make it in this shot). JR is so knowledgeable, it was truly a pleasure to go to the track with him the today. We got to see horses having their shoes changed and being groomed - we even got a glimpse of this year's Derby winner, I'll Have Another. When we were walking around, we had to avoid an area that the police had taped off. I learned later today that a body was found. Very very sad.
On a lighter note, did you know that horses have companions? It can be a cat, chicken or a goat. And we saw a goat! He walked over and rested his big belly on the concrete step, as pictured below. I totally get this goat...
